Great deal for what looks like 12gb/sec SAS drives (HUSMM1616ASS20) @ $545 ea BIN! ...Accepting less.
NEW 1.6TB SSD SAS Enterprise Drive - HGST - HUSMM1616ASS20 - 60 Day Warranty
According to the label, it is an OEM drive for EMC. The included pictures of a Windows PC show a drive reporting model number HUSMM111CLAR1600 with firmware C250, which is different from the label on the drive picture. The serial number in the drive picture comes up as "Return to Point of Purchase" if I look it up on the HGST Partner Portal (as does the serial number in the Windows picture).

as a point of reference, this past week i bought 6x of these exact drives (1.6tb) for $100 each from a ebay seller (who is sold out now btw :( )

so Aug 28, 2016 : ~$545 was a great deal on these used,
6.5years later,
feb 2 2023: $100 is a great deal on these used.

(so ~ 65$ drop per year in value). lord knows how much these were brand new back in 2016 (rough guess ~$1400 each)

Last year, a seller had ~100 of these selling for 95USD OBO as "for repair or parts only" either because they didn't know you had to reblock them from 520 or they didn't feel like dealing with it. The various BuyBests have been selling these for < 130 on OBO for the last couple of years.
And to be clear I'm referencing the HUSMM1616ASS2xx not the HUSMR family.

absolute tank & beast of a drive. this is my preferred vm storage pool drive.

that is a heck of a interesting necro post.
Yeah, and comparing prices today to 2016... cool to see, but other than that provides 0 value to this thread. Should have started a 'new deal' thread if this is a new deal not bump an old deal and confuse people because the links are 404 now and we all try the first post\link w\out checking dates... right...right?? just me? lol :D
