Hey Guys,
I've got a 10GigE to 1Gig Ethernet switch, 2x 10GigE ports and 48 1 Gig E ports. Our network admin setup the switch to be 192.168.255.254/24.
Am I limited to only use 192.168.255.xx network for the client machines? I think theoretically that IP address is just used for managment, but I want to confirm with someone who has a switch working in the field on two different subnets.
For example I want the clients to be on 192.168.1.xx network. Will they be able to connect on a switch configured on the 192.168.255.xx network? It's a Dell Force Ten switch. I'm not sure the operating system on the switch, maybe a cisco iOS?
Anyways, thanks for listening.
