Anybody know what kind of RAM goes in a Netscreen 5400? I've got NS-5000-MGT3, NS-5000-8G2-G4, and NS-5000-2XGE-G4 modules with no RAM :-( The MGT takes some kind of DIMM, the others are SO-DIMM. All I've got lying around is DDR3 and that ain't it.

Some progress. Won't boot with 2x2GB but 1x2GB is fine. Now to find some SODIMMs...

Congratulations,
this sounds really good :)
Could you please be so kind and share the infos about the memory types which finally brings up the NS-5400 MGT3 booting ?
I have a simmilar issue here and still struggling arround with "old historic" chips found in my cellar ;-)
Do you think that DDR(1) 400 ( 184 Pin, non ECC, non Register ) should work with 2x1GB or 1x2GB assembly ?
Any hints will be helpfull.

Kind regards and many thanks!
