Netgate finally released a TNSR option for us mortals unwilling to talk to sales people, it allows us to test the solution for free
Also they changed the licensing model, so it is much more transparent, it is now per device rather than related to bandwidth.
Though the cheapest option is at 499 USD so a real license is not a fantastic option for us homelabbers (depending on your budget/need to do 100G ).
My take on it, is that it is very cool with a free version for home/lab use, but without continual updates and apparently a need to reinstall every 6 months, I will definitely not be using it for anything but a test in a lab.
I would definitely prefer, if they added another tier, where you could use it fully for 99 USD for home use with updates but no support, though I suppose they are worried it would cannibalize the higher tiers.
