I recently bought 8 SSD S3500 Intel 600G (but marked with hp tags) drives. I was looking at the smart attributes on the drive and had the following questions (from my output which is listed below)

1. Media_wearout_indicator is missing (Intel DC S3500 Series SSDs - Thomas-Krenn-Wiki

2. I have a very high Program_Fail_Count_Chip raw value. Is this something of concern?

3. Given the data below, is there any way for me to get an idea on how much life the drive has left?

4. The power on hours seem to vary between 0 to 24 hours. Seems rather low. What is this attribute really saying?

This is my first used SSD so please provide any help you can....

------------- Output from one of the drives:

This is pretty common/ known issue. It has been mentioned in the forums and the used datacenter SSD buyer's guide and the HP 800gb Intel S3700 800GB deal posts on the main site over the past few weeks. HP drives do not have the wear indicator in SMART attributes. I think the S3500 800GB drives have about 450TBW endurance (or possibly more) and are not that old. So unless they had a full disk random small file size write per day workload, they are likely OK still.
