Hello,
I've just migrated an old system to NappIT 19.06h, the System > Faults > Important log is filling with messages.

fmdump -I
May 29 04:30:10.2071 resource.sysevent.EC_zfs.ESC_ZFS_history_event
May 29 04:30:10.4597 resource.sysevent.EC_zfs.ESC_ZFS_history_event
May 29 04:30:10.7229 resource.sysevent.EC_zfs.ESC_ZFS_history_event
May 29 04:30:10.7230 resource.sysevent.EC_zfs.ESC_ZFS_history_event
May 29 04:30:10.9335 resource.sysevent.EC_zfs.ESC_ZFS_history_event
May 29 04:30:11.1861 resource.sysevent.EC_zfs.ESC_ZFS_history_event
May 29 04:30:11.4498 resource.sysevent.EC_zfs.ESC_ZFS_history_event

The timings match up with the replication job schedule on my new system.
What's going on.
Is there a setting i need to change to stop these events being logged?
Will this log get rotated?

Many Thanks
Bob

The logs is referring to pool history. You can check menu Pool > History where all last ZFS actions on the pool are logged. Beside that all Solarish logs are rotating. This is an uncritical info message only.

What you should do is a Pool > Upgrade to the newest ZFS version 5000. In napp-it use menu Pools and click on version (propably 28 in your case, otherwise "-" or 5000).

Do a pool upgrade only if you do not want to move/send a pool back to a former OS without support for newest features.

Hello Gea, thanks for the update.
My storage pool is already 5000, although it's probably missing a few features of the most recent version.
I checked Menu > Pool > History there are lots of history items in there!!!! Going back to 2016!!

I've had a look at /etc/logadm.conf
looks like /var/fm/fmd/infolog_hival is set on a 2yr or 10meg rotation cycle

the old Omnios151014 machine had /var/fm/fmd/infolog_hival set with a 2yr or 50Kb rotation cycle

Regards
Bob
