Hello,

I've been playing around with the replication job feature in Napp-IT in my home lab.
Created an appliance group between 3 Napp-IT servers.

The idea behind this is to be able to replicate from Main Server(MS) to Onsite Backup (OB) and Offsite backup (OF).

So far, I've been able to create a job on OB to pull from MS and then I created a job on OF to pull from MS.
This is working but I fear that if I'm replicating to MS and OB/OF at the same time (replication snaps every 15 min) might create a performance hit/bottleneck.

Would it be best to do MS to OB then OB to OF?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A ZFS replication A > B > C is hardly possible.
When you replicate A > B, you create a common base snap.

When you then replicate B > C this creates a newer base snap between them.

The next A > B replication initiates a rollback of B to the newest A snap.
This will destroy the base snap form the A > C replication that must fail then.

So you must replicate A > B and A > C.
As an incremental replication only transfers modified datablocks, the load is minimal unless you run it with a large time delay and a huge amount of delta data.
