Ok, TLS only works with most mailservers over a different send script and with a registered from adress (=smtp username) to avoid spam.
I have modified the newest napp-it 25.x accordingly. Due the many changes I cannot simply backport to 22.03 without many tests

If you are using napp-it 22.03 free, request a 2day evalkey to update to a 25.x free

In the license overview there is a note "no valid machine id licence found" instead "license ok"

Please check if the machine id is like h:mcc47a1fb92am90, optionally get a new key and enter whole line

in menu Extension > Register

There should be then an option 24.01 or 25.01

can you delete the incorrect key "Your machine..." in menu Extension > Register > Edit

Deleted all the keys and re-entered the correct key and still no change (can not upgrade to PRO for eval but I can see the extensions).

Not really going to pursue it as you said the free version doesn't work for my use case for TLS gmail.

Pro means all extensions active incl. update to newest, does not matter the release.
What you need is v25.01 free or pro. For the update you need a valid key.

Does About > Update now offers an update to 25.01?

With an evalkey you switch 22.03 free to 22.03 pro
If the key is valid for your machine id, you are allowed to update 22.03 pro to 25.01 pro (2025.01)
When the evalkey expires or you delete the key, you are at 25.01 free

What is your machine id (menu Extensions > Get machine id)?
