Hello, Ive been reading this forum for many months, and now it's time to ask my first question.
I've got an Omnios box with Napp-it Pro installed and running. I've noticed prstat was showing a perl script using 10% CPU usage so I did some investigating and found it was:
/var/web-gui/data/napp-it/zfsos/_lib/illumos/agent_stat.pl

That script was writting to /tmp/iostat_60s.log and had created a 220meg file. Here is an extract from the file:

192.168.1.4:/mnt/storage/;write60

(Sorry for not knowing how to format that properly)
Virtually the whole file is full of references to 192.168.1.4:/mnt/storage. WHY?

this location is an old freenas box I use for backups. My back up script uses rsync to copy files to 192.168.1.4:/mnt/storage. Why is napp-it filling iostat_60s.log with references to this location?

Thanks
Bob

Edit...
Sorry, should have mentioned. My back up script is triggered by cron at 09:12, 15:12, 21:12.
here is a line from the script:
rsync -avz --delete /tank/tempstorage/music/ /net/192.168.1.4/mnt/storage/MusicJukebox/

Thanks Bob

This is a logfile that is base of the realtime graphs (last minute activity).
You can disable realtime logging in the upper right top menu of napp-it when you click on "Mon"

@gea, Thank you. I've disabled realtime monitoring and the perl script I mented above seems to have stopped.

Why was the real time monitor scanning an NFS share on my network?

Thanks
Bob

oh, ok. But this is a folder that's accessed over an NFS network share, it's not physically attached to my Omnios box. Is it possible to modify /var/web-gui/data/napp-it/zfsos/_lib/illumos/agent_stat.pl so that it only gathers data for disks that are physically attached to the local computer?

I guess I'm showing my noobie-ness...sorry about that.

Bob.

There are logs about disks, pools, protocols (ex NFS), filesystems, nics.
see menu Extensions > Realtimemonitor

I would suggest to deactivate them all when not needed

Thank you Gea. I was hoping you'd be able to explain why napp-it is recording data about my NFS shares, "switch it off" doesn't really explain what's going on. Anyway, it's not important, just weird. regards, Bob.

The last minute log is mainly based on:
iostat -xcn 1

Does this show your NFS mounts?

I access the NFS share via the automount folder /net/.
If I've NOT accessed the NFS share (it's not mounted under /net/192.168.1.4/mnt/storage) it does NOT show up in isostat -xcn 1 output.
If I HAVE accessed the NFS share (so that it is mounted under /net/192.168.1.4/mnt/storage) then it does show up in isostat -xcn 1 output.

ok, seems easy to remove lines with an / as they are not disks but mounts.
Will include that in next release.

You can try the following

modify line 282 of to /var/web-gui/data/napp-it/zfsos/_lib/illumos/agent_stat.pl (add the | grep -v /)
open (T,"-|","iostat -xcn 1 | grep -v /");

@gea, just saw your post. I've updated the file and things seems OK.
iostat -xcn 1 reports 192.168.1.4:/mnt/storage but it's not showing up in iostat_60s.log (and the file is remaining about 4k).
Thanks, Bob.
