The airshroud is custom, but I guess I'll make some changes to it in the future.

The base is a Supermicro 815TQ-R450U, but I've completely upgraded it

  • Upgraded PSUs from 2x PWS-451-1R to 2x PWS-504P-1R (Titanium)
  • Upgraded PDB from PDB-PT815-CP20 to PDB-PT112-2424 (has 24-pin, the original did not)
  • Upgraded Backplane to SAS3 (BPN-SAS3-815TQ)
  • Swapped WIO Rear Window for standard rear window (MCP-240-00086-0N)
  • Installed new Riser (RSC-RR1U-E16 + MCP-120-00031-0N)
  • Installed all fans (standard is 4 fans and 2 dummies)
I am currently waiting for M.2 to PCIe Riser cables (ordered from China). Once they're arrived, I'll install an additional Supermicro S3008L-L8e (12G SAS HBA)!

How are fan-speeds and noise like with the 40x56 fans? I'm afraid to get anything but the short-depth 1U chassis because fan noise will be too high for me. For ref, I can live with around 4000-5000rpm idle on the 40x28's.
