MS-01 12900H v.s. 13900H

I am comparing MS-01 12900H and 13900H. It looks the price difference is quite significant.
While both can equip 96G RAM, and the only difference is the slightly higher base/turbo frequency + memory frequency in S1390 unit.

Is the 13th gen really worth the price premium? Or is there any other difference I am not aware of?

The newer PCIe version on the 13900h is the most notable difference.
Depending on your application, the 13900h is the higher performer but generally speaking it's the incremental upgrade.

My lab is run off an AMD FX-6300 so the 12900h for my applications is plenty.

Unless you absolutely need the higher clocks and the newer PCIe version on the x8 socket I'd get the 12900H. Savings is signfificiant, speedup on the 13900H is modest (in most use cases probably no noticable).
