My 4545P is now supposedly "ready to ship", although the corresponding H13SAE-MF isn't apparently due on the shores of blighty for another month.
Sigh. Feels like Supermicro are really keen on leaving the retail market behind.
Three weeks ago, the H13SAE-MF was In Stock on teh Egg. I waited to Purchase till the next morning, and OOS!!! About two weeks ago, there were ~11 H13SAE-MF available on teh Bay for ~USD520 . . . that dried-up the a day to the week after I decided to pull-the-trigger on just one.
Teh Egg rep. stated that more would be available in early August.
'In Stock' again became available on 25 July.
MB was shipped from Canada....
Paid USD509, got my shipping . . . aaaand the next day the Egg pricing went-down to USD469!
I filed a Price Match, and got *crickets*
My take-away from all this is that the perceived demand (which one would assume--in this case--inevitably outstrips the supply) is a fugazi, and regular Retailers just can't be arsed with the Customer-angst involved in such short supply.
We're probably competing with the interests of approx. 15,528 other purchasers, so try to remain gentle with your Self
