Patrick are you sure the GPU is forced to run in its highest performance mode? I know just running ccminer for me is not enough for my 980 to stay in its highest state and the hashing rate can fluctuate quite randomly.
the 1070 results are very low..

That is what I thought too but I heard people saying that a 1080 is only like 2x a 750 Ti.

Monero went well over 13 and is sitting at 12.95 today. That makes mining Monero much more profitable.

Feeling a bit obscene now. Monero is currently at $14.30.

Added GTX 1050 Ti numbers. If Monero kept this level it would have a payback period, sans power costs, of about 9 months. For those wondering, the GTX 1050 Ti shows the following while mining:
Code:
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| NVIDIA-SMI 375.20 Driver Version: 375.20 |
|-------------------------------+----------------------+----------------------+
| GPU Name Persistence-M| Bus-Id Disp.A | Volatile Uncorr. ECC |
| Fan Temp Perf Pwr:Usage/Cap| Memory-Usage | GPU-Util Compute M. |
|===============================+======================+======================|
| 0 GeForce GTX 105... Off | 0000:04:00.0 Off | N/A |
| 30% 39C P0 51W / 75W | 707MiB / 4070MiB | 100% Default |
+-------------------------------+----------------------+----------------------+
Here is the PNY one
I am using which was purchased for around $149.

@Patrick do you have any numbers on the low power ES or QS V4's? Also, how many GTX 1050's can you really run in a dual E5 V4 mobo. If you had 5 of them that's gotta be too much for a mobo right? I'm also looking for what the GTX 1060 3GB does and the AMD 480's too. You're only using 700MB RAM so more cores would help right?

Great questions for which I have no answer for. Perhaps on the GTX 1060 3GB after I get back from CES.

I wish I saw that Zotac a few days ago. Oh well. $10 difference. The 3GB 1060 is probably the better Monero miner but a $60 difference is likely too much to overcome since there are diminishing returns on mining.

Then there's the larger question of whether the 6GB is more useful than the 3GB model if mining is not the primary concern.

I do think that a 3+ quarter payback is risky so having a better card may be worthwhile.

Just looking at cumulative numbers I am in the $9 / day range. Not super but decent.

@gigatexal and @Patrick your $14.30 figures are already out of date. How does that impact payback?
$15.30 is obviously better but minimal impact on payback since it is a low percentage delta.

Things will probably reverse course soon but it is fun for the few days it is going up.

Looks like it is pulling back from a high around $16.50 to $16.

Added a few ARM SBC's. The pine64 with the aes instruction set version of Wolf does "ok" for a 4 watt system but is nothing to write home about. $20 for the system plus about the same for memory card and USB power cable to crank out 12 H/s.

CPU Results (wolf's)
2x Intel Xeon X5675 = 340H/s (don't laugh too hard, lack of AES-NI hurts the new crypto projects)
The 5600 series was actually the first generation of Xeon that supported AES-NI

Having said that, yeah, they don't fair very well at this. My old C6100's with 2x E5620's are only doing 150H/s per node.

added thanks @fractal and @cafcwest

BTW @fractal any tips on getting these to work on ARM? I may try on some larger CPUs.

Also interesting on the C6100 - if you had free power could be a decent miner with the 6 core chips.

I do have free power, so I've got 8 nodes cranking along at 150H/s to see if I like the game. Currently running Minergate, will switch over to something else if I decide to stay in the game.

I do wish I had picked up the 6 core chips when there was that cheap run of them a few years ago - oh well!

It does make me ponder taking the spare C6100 I have in the FS and running it. Payback period 10 months if it is just eating extra power.
