Windows 10 + Built in Hyper-V
Yes.
Ah ok! That makes perfect sense. I have been running Docker on Linux. If you run Docker on Windows then you are running Docker in a VM hence why you are losing a chunk of performance.

Just installed a $85 shipped E5-2673 v3 SR1Y3 CPU from Ebay ( late night crazy low-ball best offer )

E5-2673 v3 = 639H/s Ubuntu 14 with xmr-stak-cpu

Average Total Hash Rate: (24h) 9.50 KH/s (12h) 9.48 KH/s (1h) 8.08 KH/s (10m) 12.37 KH/s

My big one for the day was the single E5-2630L V3 in a HPE DL60 Gen9 server. 355H/s at 72w.

And I have to find these sources! Wow on that price.

$85? ES or retail stepping? Crazy low price for either.

A bit of overclocking (500MHz + RAM up to 2666) and the Ryzen 5 1600 is now up to 465H/s. Almost catching a stock clocked Ryzen 7 1700. Still almost silent on the Wraith cooler it comes with.

Not bad if you can get one with cooler for $220 then a cheap motherboard like this a single DIMM and then just find a cheap PSU/ case/ 16GB mSATA SSD and you are around $450 and could still add a GPU.

Retail SR1Y3 CPU. I brought 3 Retail V3 CPU each for $100 or less.
I check Ebay "Intel E5 v3" and "Intel E5 v4" around 8-10PM PDT. Got lucky few times.

Now, I am mining 0.94 XMR per day, it will buy me a Ryzen 5 1600 soon.

How much power do overclocked Ryzens use? And since alot of functions are now on the cpu die compared to the older FX series how power efficient is a Ryzen cpu/motherboard combo.

@Klee that Ryzen 5 1600 is using 112W with a GT 610 PCIe x1 card. That is one of the big reasons I think if you instead were using a card capable of mining it would be better. Over 4H/s/w but not earth shattering.

Ryzen is CPU target at 3GHz + turbo 3,4GHz- That should be 1800x, but clock cost nothing so AMD overclocking CPU...
This is 1700 is sweet point between temperature, power consumption - it's only normal Ryzen (like 2600k old days). If you want to overclock to 4GHz you will double powerconsumption, rise temperature to max. 14nm is not 32nm.... lower you go less durable it get.

it's VM type 1 so it should run quiet good.

All ryzens are same chip (physicly). What do you think about 1500X 4cores and 16mb l3 :p
Still 480/470 GPU should be more cost efficient.

Can you tell me about CPU performance linux vs windows bare metal?

Did I understand right, that you overclocked ryzen 5 1600 from 3,2GHz to 3,7GHz? How much did you use cores 5 or 6? What is hashrate for one core?

But how is it possible get a 465 H? The Ryzen 7 1700 with 3,7 GHz and 7 threads get 518 H. You should get more Hashrate.
I think 465 is too low as well. I'd expect closer to 500 from the 16MB R5's.

I've had to stop mining completely though. Too costly with XMR prices and power costs these days.
