I think I still have a "slocket" in my junk drawer...and did your Slot-1 MB require R-DIMM (RamBus DIMMs)?

I'm pretty sure I have those somewhere if I try to find it and I'm pretty sure I have the slot 1 CPU as well, LOL.

I think my first dual socket system used two of these... that's right... dual CPU and two threads on that thing.

The funniest thing was the slot 1 coolers. "Massive" for the time.

Those cartridge-pentium II's were good times. Definitely had a bunch of those around the office and in my workstation, circa '98/99 if I recall.

Didn't those 300a's also run in dual CPU configs?

This time period reminds me of another hack I did, making a Promise Fastrak66 RAID Controller out of an Promise Ultra66 ATA Controlller by soldering 100ohm resistor to the EPROM and flashing the Ultra66 with the Fastrak66 Bios.

Still have one of those. Celeron 600 i believe, later upgraded to a 'not crippled' pentium III. The next 10 years or so i didn't touch anything intel powered ;)

Funnily enough we are seeing this type of add-on boards again with the co-processors

As soon as the Slot A Athlons came out, I bought a 900. I did not use an Intel CPU from 1999 to 2006 until the Core 2 Duo was released. Since then I have been back to Intel.

BP6 runs Celeron 300a's in dual. I have one with two pairs of CPUs (366 and 500). Along with my Promise Fastrack66 from a Ultra66 and Slot1 P3 800. I never had a Slocket, I went from the BP6 to a P4 2.4B. I do remember really wanting to get a dual Tualatin, they out performed the P4 until the Northwood IIRC.
