Still nuts one has to go through the trenches to figure out fan and power headers when they could have easily added additional fan headers.
I gave up and just went the usb fan route with the dial switch to adjust the fan rpm, this is with mini pc set ups in general.
Looking at some noctua datasheet apparently pinout being semi random is a classic on 5V fans to the point they give you some wago-like 3M to swap some wires if needed.
Definitely would have liked to have 1-2 regular 12V fan headers but I'm not even sure there is 12V anywhere on this motherboard. That said like you wrote I just wish this was designed with proper cooling for the nvme.

Anyway just to update a little on this subject, I got some small coolers that are integrated into heatsink, swapped the pinout and it almost worked except I found out the system fan port (which is the one used by default for the bottom fan) fixed pwm options is broken in bios (work fine for the ssd fan port) and stay in auto even if you change the setting.
Nothing I couldn't solve by splitting the other pwm signal but still pretty annoying.
