Hey gang — i’m struggling trying to get a discrete GPU to work with the MS – 01. I went through two long threads on the site which talk about bios, configurations, and other compatibility issues. I’ve upgraded the bios to the most recent version and tried lots of different settings options. the best I can manage is getting the machine to boot into windows but with a lot of snow/static on the screen i.e. I’m not getting a clear screen, but the machine does boot and I’m able to see well enough to drive around.
Does anyone know if the snow/static indicates that there might be some sort of hardware failure or should I keep trying different combinations of bios settings and driver versions until it works?
**Update -- problem solved. 3050 was faulty.
