thanks for the news. Any advice on bios setting to avoid having the fan go up and down but without limiting the CPU power too much ?

turn on l0 and l1 on the aspm will let the devices use a lot less power when they aren't being used.

I use custom curve on fans

Just see what fans are being used system or ssd fan

My Unraid server is not very high usage but i like to keep cpu/nvme around 40 degrees. This is without throttling the cpu any.

Hi there,
I have a MS-A2 with the 9 9955HX CPU BIOS 1.03 I have 2 x 32GB Micron DDR5 5600 memory and two NVMe disks installed in NVMe1 and NVMe3.
I have also installed a Dell branded Samsung PCI card PM1725a which should be capable of PCIe3.0 x8 connection... yet it connects at x1 and of cause I can see that the speed just isn't here... (about 8-900MB/sec, where we should be capable of much more).
In the BIOS I have tried to load optimized defaults, then change the SSDs to GEN4 and the PCIe slot to x8.
But still the card links up with x1...

Any other things you can tweak in the BIOS to allow the PCIe to link up at x8 as stated?
I have of cause tried the PCIe card in server, where it links up with x8 no problems...

Can the two NVMe disks "block" or cause the PCIe slot to "throttle" the speed down ?
I would think that the AMD CPU should have sufficient PCIe lanes to handle this?

Suggestions are welcome :)

I have all the nvme's in use on gen4 and my nvidia card is running at 8 lanes. must be something with the dell pci card. maybe see if there is a firmware update to the pci card.

Cant boot proxmox after bios update to 1.03. It just freezes after 3 seconds of boot without error. Dont know it what direction to dig.

I know this sounds crazy but this has happened before. Try to flash the bios again see what happens.

The other thing you could test is your ram or maybe pull your nvme's out and put another nvme in install windows or something simple and see if it boots.

Here it is if anyone needs it.
Given that at least one forum member reports that it has effectively bricked their machine and the manufacturer has removed it from view, probably wise to treat this as broken.

FWIW, I'm seeing the same issue. Proxmox starts to boot and hangs. I upgraded from 1.01 to 1.03 from EFI shell.
