Hi everyone,
I'm currently planning a Minio instance that shall reside on a TrueNAS host to act as slow capacity tier for a backup infrastructure.
The current plan consists of a smaller, faster Tier1 instance for daily snapshots, which then, depending on the job type, will be either dropped after its 7 day expiration or archived on both tape and the S3 storage. The backup software is Veeam.

This is the area where I'd greatly appreciate input:
As far as I'm concerned, a metadata cache for object storage is the most impactful way to speed up the S3's speed.
While write speed is not necessarily important (just a copy from the fast datastore some time at night), read speeds are, in case some of the archieved files need to be accessed. The ZFS pool used for S3 is supposed to consist of 8x 14TB HDDs in Raidz2 with two Intel S3700 400GB drives acting as SLOG.
How should I size the metadata cache for minio?
