Not to steal the spotlight from this thread. But does anyone know: the watt increase from adding a gpu to a system, (Just adding it, idle-mode). Can't find these numbers anywhere. I'd like to know watt = system no gpu & system with gpu (idle).

Difficulty has been going up and down on Zcash lately. But right now its between €4000 and €4500 a month after powercosts. Think thats about $5000 to $5500. Ill post some pics later when I have a chance to kick the sync from my phone to my pc back into gear.

Basically I have two storage racks with 6 shelves. Each shelf houses a mobo with 8 1080TI's. Probably going to up that density to 12 soon.

I chose the 1080TI for 2 reasons.
One is density. Since I dont have much space to do this in.
The second one was availability. Could not get other cards in numbers and going 1060/1070 or AMD would have ment a lot more cards.

1080TI's are great I just havent added any GPU's since June. With the current difficulty and return rates I cant justify adding more hardware

gtx 10 -series dont have that much power in them to even consider over Tis

What do you mean by that? at one point the margins were MUCH better on gtx1070's over 1080ti's

Even still the H/$ is better on 1070's
