Ok so it's really $244.35 but close enough. 24 port Gigabit Ethernet, 2 SFP+

This isn't the rackmount version though:
Mikrotik CRS226 24g 2S in Cloud Gigabit Router Switch 24 Ports L3 OSL5 | eBay

These usually sell for like $280-300 after shipping. The auction says new. The same seller is listing the CRS210-8G-2S+IN (8x 1gig model) for $229 including shipping. I paid $15 more for 16 more ports.

Here's another one that is $244.34+ 16.88 shipping:
Mikrotik CRS226 24g 2S in Cloud Router Switch 24XGBIT LAN 2XSFP 1XUSB 128MB | eBay

Still good if the first one runs out. Too bad these aren't the RM versions but at these prices, I'm not complaining.

Whoopie!

Bah. #3 en route. Helmer cluster switch at this price. It looks like the seller has a max of 4 but replenishes.

Oh and ebay bucks = another $4 and change back on this.

Does not ship to Alaska/Hawaii.

Why oh why do I live in the frigid north. It makes supplying my homelab off ebay so much more work.

Awesome find @Jeggs101 ! So this router would allow me to hook up those Mellanox Connect-X cards or Intel X-520's for 10gbe or infiniband networking? How difficult are these to set up?

Thank you for the info guys!

10gbe or infiniband networking
These only do 1GbE or 10Gb Ethernet. Not Infiniband. If you get the ConnectX-2 EN or ConnectX-3 EN (<$100 for dual port) then you are good.

Setup wise: extremely easy. If you just want a super basic (all ports can communicate with all other ports) all you have to do is navigate this screen:
MikroTik CRS226 WebFig.jpg

It is not an ultra powerful router by any means, but you can do a few tricks with it if you want and the RouterOS WebFig is really easy to use.

Thank you @Patrick ! You are the man! Initially when building my server I was going to bond a few gigabit nics to a managed switch but it seems like going with 10gbe is much easier to setup (also easier than infiniband) after reading here on the forums. It's also not terribly more expensive.

Thanks @Patrick for this awesome website and forum! It's been such a help to a newbie like me!

If having two switches of this, does it allow stacking or lag to provide redundancy ?

Example: A server with nic port 1 connect to switch A and another port 2 to switch B with lacp or the bonding, will it works in this way ? P

That is called MC LAG and typically feature supported on enterprise devices like cisco high end nexus or juniper. I am not sure if Microtik support this function.

Thks for the multi-chassis lag info but what i understand that the routeros only support bonding. For what i want to know if the bond support lag like cisco etherchannel or any stp support that can prevent loopback. And also if the bond consume high load on cpu.

Just an FYI, this device does not support LACP channel bonding. If you are looking at bundling up more than one port to another device, well make sure you understand what you are doing!
