Microsoft Surface Pro 128GB - $499

Just saw this: Microsoft Surface Pro 128 GB 885370525571 | eBay

I had the 64GB model (or two of them).

Really thinking of buying another one. The battery life was not so great. On the other hand, $500 for a Windows 8 Pro tablet with pen. I also had Hyper-V on it although that was a bit rough since it has 4GB RAM.

But...it being a windows 8 tablet (though I hesitate to call it just a tablet), with Hyper-V manager, and RSAT, you have a really nice set of tools to remotely administer your Server 2012 devices (Hyper-V Server 2012, etc). Aside from all the other features of Office & Windows (no need for that here), I do see this as an excellent server admin device.

I would imagine this is a price drop across the retail channel due to poor sales.

While I dont have the data, we also need to consider that newer Surface's are here/on the way....

After owning a Surface Pro (v1) the battery life was not so good. I think that given the previously small price premium for the new V2 version, they needed to drop prices to move the old models. I think it is unlikely we will see new models before Broadwell.
