I think this may only make sense for some one looking for higher port density / shortage of available PCIe slots.

I don't think this belongs in deals section so posting here. Since this is a 6gbps card, we usually can find deals 2 x LSI 2308 based cards for less than this price. (IT_Mart may still have them for $45 ea)
Seller has about 200 all positive reviews in the last six months. Listed this item as AS IS, can not test, pulled from working servers. No returns. qty 6 available at the time of posting

My understanding is that Series 7 & 8 have the BIOS option to select HBA mode. Not sure of the driver support for FreeNAS. Most Linux (if not all) and Windows should be fine.

71605H is an hba (no raid features)
