I have a couple of these Micron 7300 MAX 3.2TB I got from eBay.

Micron is getting worse and worse in letting People freely download their Firmware  .

The 7300 can only be accessed through Google, their "SSD Firmware" Page only shows the most recent Drives:

Latest available there is 95420260 from 2021-04-28.

According to this PDF however (available both from Micron itself and e.g. Digikey), there should be another Update Available, although that is NOT available publicly: 95420280.

Maybe there are even other Updates available since then, but no Documentation or File can be found :(.

Drives are currently running Firmware 95420100. There seem to be a few Fixes by updating to 95420260, but nothing major it seems:
•Appending “End to End Error Detection Count” and ”CRC Error Count” into extended SMART
log page CAh
•Fix for SMD(Out of band data) buffer and access during device boot up
•Improved link train capability which recovered the link speed degradation
•LED activity fix when drive configured as dual port mode & operates in idle mode
•Revised the PCIe vendor ID for U.2 Form Factor
•Extended configuration space access fix for ARM based platform
•Fix for out of band SMART data for health status
•OPROM improvement for BIOS/System compatibility
•NVMe-MI improvement
•Corrected slot clock configuration bit value by Link Status Register changed from 0 to 1
•Power loss detection improvement
•Reliability and stability improvements
And by updating from 95420260 to 95420280 (if one can find the Firmware, that is), the following:
-Feature & performance enhancements
-LED status and activity upgrades
-System stability improvements
-General error and protocol improvements
-Asynchronous power-loss improvements
Note: Label text will also be updated beginning with FW release. Please see attached document.
Not sure if the later Update is only available to Singapore Customers ? There are also plenty of Part Number Changes, so maybe a completely different Hardware Revision as well ???

Thanks in Advance for any Help :).

EDIT 1: clarified which Changes were related to which Update.

Any ideas on the date of the firmware?

When they switched from the "need to log it to download this" to the newer "just download from here" format, I don't think they included any of their older models - for instance the 5200 that I have several of isn't included in the list but the 5300 and 5400 are.

Sadly I don't have anything in my download bucket for the 7300's as I've never used them.

Incidentally, where did you get the PDFs from? I don't recall seeing anything as detailed from them before. Edit: Read your post again properly and did indeed find a couple of them in the documentation section, although none of them are exactly easy to stumble on.

Which one ?
- Currently running (95420100) ?
- 95420260 ?
- 95420280 ?

Funny because I could download plenty of Files for Micron 5100 and Micron 5200 a few Weeks ago  . Not much (1 File each) for Micron 5300 and Micron 5400 respectively.

It's still accessible right now.
Just select Firmware on the left Side and keep clicking on the Load More at the Bottom of the Paginated Result List until you find what you need.

Yes it's a PITA, but their Search "Feature" is completely broken :(.

You need to sign up with some Kind of Plausible Enterprise Email (NOT Gmail / Outlook / Hotmail / etc), I used my own custom Domain.
AND try to avoid complex Symbols in your Password, I lost like 30 Minutes because their Error Message was messed up and they just didn't like part of my Password. I used ONLY Alpha-Numeric Characters [a-zA-Z0-9] plus a % Symbol (it would keep complaining otherwise). Note that it will setup some kind of Microsoft Account for Authentication (probably Microsoft Graph / Entra ID or possibly a generic OpenID one handled via Microsoft, maybe Azure ?), apparently Micron does NOT want to handle their own Authentication System  .

I just checked there as well, the 7300 is NOT in the List.

I struggle to understand their "Logic" about which Firmware is on which Page to be honest ...

Sadly I don't have anything in my download bucket for the 7300's as I've never used them.
Yeah, I know the Feeling, you don't need it ... until you do :p.

Just looked through Google (from Digikey Website or from Micron Website):
- https://assets.micron.com/adobe/ass...cron-7300-fw-95420280-update-instructions.pdf (Google site:micron.com 95420280)
- https://assets.micron.com/adobe/ass...iginal/as/micron-7300-95420260-changelist.pdf (through the Download Page Data Center SSD downloads which I found through Google)
- https://media.digikey.com/pdf/PCNs/~No Display/Micron/PCN_34557.pdf (micron 7300 95420280 Changelog)

EDIT 1: added details about Micron setting up some kind of Microsoft Backed Authentication (if you sign up to the my.micron.com Portal).

EDIT 2: Added Data Center SSD downloads as source for the 95420260 Changelog

Yep, i uploaded 5200-d1mu-040-440-540-840 on my mega share
I think he was asking for the Micron 7300 Firmware Files.

I checked on Hetzner Rescue System, but the latest Update available there for Micron 7300 is from 01st September 2023

Code:
95420260_u2.tar
95420280_u2.tar
Which (95420280) is actually the one that I was looking for in my initial Post :D .

Not sure if that solves a 65535 Hour Bug for this Drive or if the Micron 7300 Drive isn't affected by this Bug to begin with.

Sorry for the confusion or spam, I didn't mean for this model.
