Doesn't seem particularly cheap for an old 1TB SATA SSD. Even the one I linked is cheap, but not uncommonly cheap. In fact I sold a bunch of unused SSDs last month at similar prices just because I wanted to make a quick sale.

Like all my other posts, I don't vouch for the seller. I am only posting those links so they sell out before I buy one more SSD I have no use for.

I just wanted to point out the Fact that his account is quite new and Price quite Cheap (IMHO).

It could well be one a Seller importing goods from China (very likely counterfeited, either aware or not aware of it) which sell much more easily because the Seller is in Europe.

Would you buy an SSD from China ? Pretty sure that is Counterfeit #1 these Days.

CPUs and Motherboards can be OK from China. HBA/NIC so-so. SSDs it's almost guaranteed to be fake.

That's just my Opinion. I might be wrong too and maybe he's absolutely fine. We each have to do our own Diligence :) .

Depends what SSD and from whom. There are sellers based in China with positive ratings in the thousands. I used them and have only had good experiences (outside of the delivery time which is around 2 weeks). As for what SSD, there are lots of counterfeit EVO SSD. But I have yet to see a counterfeit enterprise SSD, it's a much smaller market, unlikely to be worth manufacturing them.

But yeah a new account with few ratings (or unrelated sales) from China, I'd stay away

Not sure. There is the f3 utility to detect Counterfait SD Cards, and you can use that on SSDs too, but I'm not sure if it's really that reliable.

It tells nothing about the endurance of the SSD. Nor the performance. It might be 3.84TB of **** QLC without PLP, right ? You would have to disassemble it to know.

If you have some other SSDs for sale let me know. Where are you located by the Way ?

Agreed :).

Did you buy 3 x 3.84TB ? Otherwise somebody else did

I think you are overthinking this issue. Again takes lots of effort to make a counterfeit SSD. They won't bother unless they can sell big enough volumes of them. If you really want to check, try to write half of the disk, that's the only reliable way. In every other way the SSD will lie to the OS on its nature.

I am in the UK, but don't have any cheap ones to sell anymore. And I am not the one who bought the 3. I just have no used for a 3.84TB SATA SSD, already have 4 lying around on my desk.

Given the Prices so-so (nowhere near this good though more like 50% more than this at ~80EUR) I bought a few 1.6TB-1.92TB SSDs.

Plus yeah, since Brexit it became more difficult to trade between EU and UK. I regularly bought stuff from one UK Seller, but he had very good Prices and eBay International Shipping most of the Time did quite a good Job (and NO Import Duties/Charges on top of what I paid during Checkout, which already included everything).

for instance, those are counterfeit SSDs. You can tell, they are made to look like Samsung/WD models without the Samsung/WD logo:

This looked interesting for some Systems I am currently building. Only 960gb but OK. Plus it's NVME. But Price seemed too good to be true IMHO

Enterprise drive, unlikely to be counterfeit in my opinion.
Of course the other Issue with Samsung/IBM/Netapp/Dell-EMC/Oracle/etc Drives is Firmware Updates (and lack thereof) ...

Although to be fair I also struggle to find several Micron Firmware on their Official Site. It looks like they took them down or something  .

Why bother to hack an account that was created a few Days ago though ? That makes no sense. Just create one in such Case ...
Because of the good feedback. Hard to make a new account and have good feedback instantly.

I think the fakes have gotten to the point that only the manufacturer would know when a product is fake after they have it in their hands for a warranty issue. With used good this would never happen, so almost no way to know if something is fake or real except by perhaps the seller.

This is mistaken thinking. Most fakes are run off the same lines as the genuine product, but without the real manufacturer knowing or their qc oversight. Hence why the fakes have gotten so good and also present enough of a problem now that manufacturers factor it into the price of genuine goods.
