I have to agree here, the consolidation of the semiconductor market that has been taking place over the last few years has a worrying trend. It will almost certainly lead to higher costs and less competition in the market, and not just for finished products, even the device/ component market is slowly beginning to suffer from less choice and higher semi pricing.
