What is is the recommended memory configuration with the following requirements:
System board: Supermicro X10SDV-4C-7TP4F
Processor: Intel® Xeon® processor D-1518
The system board supports DDR4, 4 slots, dual rank, 4x data width.
Purchasing 32GB, and potential for 64GB in future.
I want full memory speed (bandwidth, channels, latency, etc).
Crucial is the manufacturer I'm looking at.
I've seen registered and unbuffered. I really don't know why to choose which, except if I want more than 64 GB then I have no choice but registered. I'm thinking of registered memory because I've read something about not putting the load onto the system board. I also don't see unbuffered memory from the manufacturer for the configuration I'm currently considered.
I'm also seeing single/dual rank, and data width. I don't know how to choose which, when, why, and for what scenarios.
