The big problem is that `mstfwmanager` isn't installed as part of VyOS, and it's not compiled into the Debian bookworm `mstflint` .deb. I don't have a bookworm build system handy, either. In the end, I just dropped a bookworm APT config onto the switch and downloaded GCC and friends and built it locally. After that, following the instructions and updating to `mlxsw_spectrum2-29.2010.1006.mfa` worked fine. Thanks!

That plus a tiny udev hack is enough to have 65 usable interfaces (64x QSFP28 plus 1 management port) working with VyOS. Now I can move this beast away from my desk and start using it for VyOS development in earnest.

I've run into a issue with my Mellanox MSX1024B-1BFS.

One of the two PSU have failed.
The model of the PSU is YM-11-1825, rev05
Manufacturer TDK-Lambda

P/N: MSX60-PF
Rev: A1

I found the same PSU which is listed as a HP PSU:
HP 675170-001 YM-11-1825 300W Power Supply | eBay

But I noticed that the HP has a different manufacturer part number
P/N: 675170-001
Rev: A1
Manufacturer TDK-Lambda

From what I found in this thread, both PSUs might have different programming for their intended manufacturers.

Trying to source the exact P/N PSU shows really high costs, MSX60-PF. As I'm using this switch in a lab testing, I'd like to keep the costs low.

Has anybody deal with buying the same model PSU but labelled for different manufacturers (HP/Mellanox)

This might be the last Onyx release, but even HPE hasn't updated this version on their website (or their release log), so it's unclear what changes were made.

Does anyone have 3.6.8012 PPC MLNX-OS installer image? All I can find is the Updater image. Need to reinstall. Hopefully someone may have a backup I could use? Thank you!

I have the SX1024. The stock PSU and fan modules are very loud. They are Delta 12V FFB0412UHN on the fan modules (2x per module, two modules), and FFB0412SHN on the PSUs (one per PSU, two PSUs).
Apologies if this has been covered already, but I wanted to make sure it is possible to swap the fans for more quiet ones. Most of the fan swap posts I've seen are talking about the SX6036.

Anyone have any info on supported firmware for the SX6720? I've been using the info from the 6036 with a bit of modification. I also want to mod the fans on the PSU on this thing as they spin at 14k
