I believe the firmware for managed IB and Eth switches is identical

I can confirm that this will not work, this is for SwitchX running MLNX-OS
Newer spectrum switches run Mellanox/Nvidia Onyx.
In that case the best you can get is v3.7 from IBM

for the record, if you have a valid switch serial number you can create a MyMellanox account, add the SN under "My Products", and they'll let you download updates even if you don't have a support contract

For those looking how to upgrade their Mellanox switches:
If you have MLNX-OS version 3.6 or so, you can't simply upgrade to the newest Onyx version. You have to upgrade first to something like Onyx 3.7 and then upgrade to 3.10

It's down for maintenance right now, but you can create a free account on that same portal using any non-Gmail/Outlook/Yahoo/etc (free) email domain and download firmware updates just the same.
Thankfully the firmware updates are linked here because when I tried to register for the NVIDIA application hub and verified my email address, I got a message stating "Not a valid user." It doesn't seem to be the case that one can log in and just provide a valid serial number anymore.
So I was playing around with names on the MLX page and found 3.10.5000 (which sounded newer than the 3.10.4302 I run, so I went ahead and installed it.

The HPE page (https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/s...reId=MTX_d8e787d906954b4e80d9ece722&tab=Fixes) lists some version but these might be HPE specific. at least the 4206 listed there is not on the MLX page and potentially than the 4302 we got before
