Just found it on ebay €170 ea seems a great bargain ..... im thinking to buy a pair but i cannot found nothing into mellanox website......
somebody know somwthing about this switches?

I know this model it is model before SBxxx Infiniband switches came out (100GB), what is important it is unmanaged and it is only Infiniband, the better deal is to get SX6036 or SX1036. It is a good switch but very loud and takes a huge amount of power (for Mellanox standards).

The SX6790 is a EMC switch - so its probably not running MLNX-OS.

This is also Unmanaged, better chose SX6036, there is a forum user who has this switches.

SX6012. SX6018, SX6036 - I have a SX6018 and are very happy with it, uses around 40w with 8 ports active - and if you exchange the fans for more silent ones, it virtually "silent"

You sure you need IB switches? Those are not convertible to ETH...

I think you missed something switches that were send/posts are Infiniband, not Ethernet and not convertible to Ethernet, Infiniband has just died in Vmware environment for example.
Of course switches mention by you SX6012,SX6018 and SX1036 are convertible.
