Hi,
I was scouting for days for a good SFP+ ethernet 10G switch online and found many products, however, not many match my requirements, namely low power consumption and low noise.
I managed to find one which does not seem to appear almost anywhere, either on E-bay or advertised through forums:
Mellanox SX1012x:
Switches - Ethernet Switches - SX1000 - SX1012X - Mellanox Store
http://www.mellanox.com/related-docs/prod_eth_switches/PB_SX1012X.pdf
Mellanox® SwitchX®-2 Based SX1012X 12-Port 10GbE 1U Open Ethernet Switch | Staples

It contains 12 QSFP's and the power consumption is around 50 W which is equal to that of Cisco SG350XG-24F. Not sure about the noise level though.
Anyone have more information about this switch?

Since it is a popular topic, here is an overview of some 10G switches I could find (at least 8 SFP+). Please feel free to add to this list:

(Updated the list based on the comments below)

1) Cisco SG350XG-24F, 24 SFP+, price around 2300 USD (Power consumption around 50 W).
2) S5800-8TF12S, 12 SFP+ and 8 10/100/1000 ports, price around 1900 USD (www.fs.com)
2) Netgear XSM4316S-100NES, 8 SFP+ and 8 10G ports, price around 1800 USD
3) Planet XGS-6350-12X8TR, 12 SFP+ and 8 10/100/1000, price around 1300 USD
12-Port 10G SFP+ Managed Switch | XGS-6350-12X8TR | PLANET
4) Dell X4012 - 12 SFP+ , price around 1100 USD
5) D-Link DXS-1210-12SC, 10 SFP+, price around 990 USD
6) Ubiquity ES‑16‑XG, 12 SFP+, price around 700 USD
7) Mikrotik CRS317-1G-16S+RM, 16 SFP+, price around 400 USD

Great switch I believe but rare rare rare, not often used in enterprise as too few ports and as such don’t see many used.
Almost perfect home lab switch in so many ways... if only obtainable.

$ per port is too high with the <36 port switches
+ enterprises can get cheaper ethernet gear from other vendors (and people here buy it on ebay when thoses enterprises sell their gear)
Please feel free to add to this list:
Did you see the 10gbe for <$550 thread? There might be a few more switches that you want to check out.

The Dell X4012 is also ~50w max, 12 x sfp+ if you can live without copper ports

Thanks for the comments. I updated the list to include the FS.COM switch. I think Cisco SMB switch is for now my favorite.
Does anyone know how loud Cisco Nexus 3524 is and if it gets shipped with base license only?
I would love to have one IOS switch and one NX-OS switch, but most probably it will be Cisco SMB in the end.
