"It depends"

Do you need just 100gbe?
Check ebay for Connect-x4 cards. About 150€ in Germany for a single port card.

Do you need certain offload features that are not available with older cards?
Maybe.

I need two 100GbE NIC's that will be direct connected on Dell 8920 workstations. Why do you ask if a just need 100GbE?
I don't need any offload features, just RDMA.

626 is not really cheap.
CX4's will also do RDMA, so unless you want newer tech or have money to burn then they will be the better approach.

Ok, I ordered two of the MCX456A-ECAT from ebay. Any idea what the part number for a 1 meter direct correct cable?

Please post your speed benchmark and full config when you get it working. It will be very useful for 100 gbit early home lab adopters.

Personally, I think you will not get even near 100 Gbit on your hardware, not speaking about 200. 40-60 Gbit will be max limit. 100 Gbit network transfer speed is achievable only by modern dual socket Xeons with 4-6 channel memory with faster than usual timings according to Netflix paper and my brief datacenter observations. 200 gbit from single server - might be in some tests, but not in protocol speed.
