I have a suoermicro motherboard with 36 drive bays and an lsi raid controller card. Using the mega raid storage manager in Linux I can create a raid60 span but only on a single controller. Is it possible to create a span across multiple controllers either via GUI or cli? Thanks!

Which LSI RAID controller?
Generally using two controllers is a bit more complex. If you look at enterprise storage, there is the concept of Active-Active controllers. Something similar is required to use multiple controllers for one RAID set.
One thing you could do is create RAID 6 arrays on each controller, then stripe in the OS of your choosing.
