I'm searching for a cheap motherboard that supports running Xeon Gold cpus with the extra omni path connector. Single socket would be great.

The seller that I got the cpus from told me that they only work in specific intel boards which are crazy expensive.

Any recommendations?

Thanks, are there any cheaper alternatives?
the X11DPi is (used or refirbished) the cheapest arround. even single sockets are more expensive.
i have searched a long time, but maybe any other knows more.

Have you found another board? The rev 1.21 boards are basically not available and even if I find an offer it starts at 1k euros.

because intel stopped the scalable with omnipath there are no new motherboards with it.
to support the omnipath the board has to provide one more voltage to the socket.

i have had a X11DPi-NT rev.1.21 last year, bought for 250 EUR but sold.
there are other supermicros with the Fabric connector mechanics on it.
X11DPG-QT i.e. rev. 1.01 / 1.02

If I understand it correctly: A Xeon Gold cpu with the omni path fabric does not work in a normal 3647 Board? Or am I wrong with this assumption? Because I don't really need the omni path fabric to work, just the cpu. Spending more money on a feature that I won't even use does not make sense.

correct. the Omnipath part of the CPU needs additional power which is not delivered by standard motherboards electrics.
the TDP of 6130 is 125W, the TDP of 6130F is 135W.

the typical behavior is the CPU don't work or clocks only 700..800Mhz if installed in "normal" LGA3647 motherboards.
Thanks, so my goal now is to find a board that does not make the whole build crazy expensive. I paid only 100 euros including shipping for the CPU.

Is it possible that some cpus and board behave different? Maybe some Omni Path CPUs work in motherboards that do not support it.
