Max hard drive size, etc?

I came into possession of this server and I want to know if it will be of use to me. This thing is HEAVY. It is populated with 24 500gb sata drives. I believe it has fiber connections in the back (which I do not have in my home setup).

I have a Norco 4224 running unRAID and I want to have a second case to be used as expanded storage and I'm not very hopeful that this will fit the bill.

What server is it? could you provide some pictures?

Chances are 2TB will work without issue if it is SAS1

you really need to provide more information than just that it is heavy and holds 24 500GB SATA drives and has fiber in back, that could describe just about any 24-bay server chassis?.... photos would help, but anything that resembles a model number would be useful too. is it rack mount or desk side?

that said, it sounds like you're more looking for a JBOD chassis than you are another server? are you hoping to convert this to JBOD?
