My base PC is Windows 11.

I created my first Hyper-V VM on it, and provisioned the licensing for Windows 11 Pro as well as Office LTSC Pro Plus 2024.

I provisionned 16GB of memory, 10 virtual processors. When I launch the VM, I have a C:\ drive of 270GB with 241GB of free space. I thought I would partition it with a 130GB partition for Windows and another 140GB partition for data.

However, when I launch minitool partition wizard, I do not see the usual option to move / resize partition. I only see the option to delete / format partition, which of course I want to avoid as I want to keep my Windows & Office licensing. Why can't minitool partition wizard resize the C:\ partition in the VM, and how do I create a new partition ? Is it done from the Hyper-V Manager directly, and how ?

I'm guessing you need to turn off bitlocker, then you might be able to shrink and partition.

(edit) you also should be able to assign a second disk to that VM and use the second disk for the extra storage.
