This could probably be a post in several other threads, but I thought I'd just start a new one.

One thing I want is a DLNA server on my OmniOS server. MediaTomb add-on does play content, but as a UPNP server it does not support fast forward, rewind, etc of media.

Most people would hope to set up Plex, but I have also identified serviio as another contender. Although both of these packages run on multiple OS, unfortunately neither of these applications run under Illumos. They do run under Linux, however.

I am slowly discovering LX zones support in OmniOS and reading about Docker. Its very exciting stuff. I can't wait for an implementation of a DLNA server /container to be able to quickly deployed/setup in OmniOS.

I have a few brief questions:
1) is OmniOS ready to implement a linux DLNA server if I try to setup LX zones and get either PLEX or Serviio installed. I assume I would have to do this manually / via CLI, although there are some guides out there.
2) How active is development for Napp-it Zones and a DLNA server container that can be easily attached? Can I sit back and wait and it will soon be something easy to do? Or will I benefit from trying to invest time to figure it out myself because this might be 6-12 months away.
