Hi All,
I currently have 2 x LSI 9211 Cards flashed to IT Mode and they run 3 Enclosures an SC846 (Dual Expander) an SC847 (Dual Expander) and a SC936 (4 x SFF8087 no expander)
I also inherited a few LSI 9300-8i Controllers.
What I am asking is with the SC936 Chassis it is 4 x SFF 8087 connectors and has no expander, If I get 2 x LSI 9300 Cards can i run all 4 SFF 8087 ports at 12G/Bs (SAS3) if the drives support it or does the SFF8087 onmly support 6GB/s?
I am asking as i have some nice enterprise SAS3 SSDs to be fitted and I want to know if I hook them up via SFF8643 => SFF 8087 cables what speed they will run at? Or am I as well keeping the 9211 cards and selling the new ones as the fastest I can run at is 6?
I know the SC846 and SC847 are a lost cause as they have SAS2 expanders so will only ever run at SAS2 speeds
