One of these days some enterprising STH member is going to figure out how to get you those for under 100.

LSI 9201-8i? That's what the sticker says, but I can find no such card on the LSI site. They must be an OEM or R&D model, like the 9220-8e that I bought. Visually, the card looks like an 9211-8i.

LSI did make oddball versions of the LSI9201, in 8i and 8e, these days the 9201 is only for 16 ports internal and external
I assume LSI must at some point have decided to make the naming scheme = ports on the cards.

9200 8e
9201 16i or 16e
9202 16e
9205 8e
9210 8i (OEM version)
9211 8i
9212 4i4e
9220 IBM M1015 (or LSI9240)
9223 IBM M1115 or LSI9240

I always thought the 9201 8i of these were made by LSI for
IBM before they started naming them with IBM M designations

where abouts in the uk do you get cheap supermicro stuff? i find it expensive? most of the stuff in my rack is supermicro.
What you looking for? my supplier does me a very good deal on SM stuff, there is quite a markup on it normally.

got all 6 of mine from china for about £50 each and no import charges :)
Gotta be careful with LSI cards from China as there are a lot of what LSI call counterfeit! Whether these are cards that didn't pass the tests or IC's that got binned and put on fake boards I don't know, hope they work okay.

Quick way to check is call LSI and give them the serial numbers and ask how long the warranty is.

Just a warning as I know a few that have been stung with LSI cards from China.
