I'd take the lot at $100/drive, and throw the trays in the trash. But at $145 I'll keep buying singles from random eBay listings. At the same time though, I'm frequently tempted to buy pallets of servers that I don't need

I actually bought 4 drives with trays, and ended up selling the trays for like 3$ a piece. Not much but people apparently are willing to pay for the trays.

In the last year or so. I've bought a few S3700s at $125. The last one was S3710 also at $125. Didn't use any of them yet but the price was just too great.
