I was reading a forum post where someone was recommending 'Cable Matters' or 'Supermicro' for quality cables. FYI

I've only bought other cable types from them, but cable matters, which @Boddy mentioned, have always been quality for me. I ordered some cat5 and coax from monoprice recently that didn't disappoint. All anecdotal given that you're asking about 8087 cables though

I've bought a lot of cables from China. Most of them are fine, but sometimes I have received nonfunctional batches. If you live in the US, don't waste time on cables from China. It's just frigging annoying to wait 3 weeks to get 10 defective cables just because they were a few dollar cheaper.

OEM XS / Kalleyomalley have some SAS cables also. But unless you are combining shipping with other purchases, it may not be cost effective. They do accept BO about ~10 - 12 range for a set of 2 +shpg. Search for AXXCBL

### - lengths

MSMS is 8087 to 8087
MSMR is 8087 to 8087 90°

Also anyone have any brands to stay away from?
Yes, don't get SFF-8087 cables from Adaptec. They are not very flexible which might become a problem with backplanes where the sff connector points down (eg. Supermicro 836A backplane).
