Hi all,
My backup server does its job well, but is old (Xeon X3450 & X8SIL-F) and only compatible with ESXi up to version 6.5 and I would like to use 6.7U3 for consistency with my main server.

It will be running the following VMs:
- OmniOS/napp-it (on IBM M1015 + 4x SSD)
- windows 2019 secondary DC
- VCSA
- windows 10 pro (Emby)

To really keep costs down, I plan to buy second hand. I'm looking for the following:
- Supermicro - familiar
- Micro ATX - to fit in my existing small case
- compatible with 32Gb (4x 8Gb) DDR3 ECC 1066, to use my existing ram
- IPMI, compatible with IPMIview
- CPU compatible with ESXi 6.7U3
would be nice:
- CPU with onboard iGPU, in case I need to offload my Emby VM from my main server
- lower power
- non-java html IPMI
- CPU compatible with ESXi7+

a few options would be nice, so I can keep an eye out for bargains on ebay (uk)

edit: just realised my ram is only 1066Mhz:
Kingston ValueRAM 8GB 1066MHz DDR3 ECC Reg w/Parity CL7 DIMM Quad Rank, x8 w/TS Intel - Qty: 4

You should be able to find what you need in the X10 series

If you wanted to modernize a bit take a look at the X11SSL-F or the AsrockRack X470/X570 boards :)

I just checked and my memory is only 1066Mhz!
The X10 series say compatible with 1333Mhz, but no mention of 1066 ...maybe it would work?
I might need to go back to X9 series with an E3-12*5 V2
my target is around £100 for mobo & cpu :)

I found a X9SCL-F and E3-1275 V2 in budget
I might go for it.

Update: I've bought these and an Intel G620, just in case the bios hasn't been updated to allow E3-1200 v2 CPUs.
