I came across an Ultrastar SSD800MM SAS SSD drive manufactured in March 2015. I've tried a few times but I cannot get any of my SAS controllers to find the drive. In each case there appears to be absolutely no indication that the drive is connected to the controllers. Other drives show-up just fine, so I know the controllers, cables, etc are working.
Since it's past any warranty, I opened it up and everything looks OK: no obvious damage.
Anyone got any ideas? Or is it time to recycle it?
I saw something in the manual about the drive having a "shelf life", but I'm not sure if this would result in a completely dead device.
