My need for gigabit ports has finally become too much for me to bear. I'm thinking of picking up an R7000 router and an old Cisco/Linksys SRW2024 switch to replace my little 10/100 16-port switch and netgear router.

I'm running a tomato firmware, which I'll likely keep using with the Blackhawk. I really only have three VLANs, one for LAN traffic, one for home wireless, and a guest network.

My question is: the SRW2024 is getting pretty old at this point. I'm getting a good deal on it, but should I be looking for something else? A dumber/newer switch perhaps? Since the SRW does VLANs, is it at all advantageous to leave the VLAN setup to the switch?

Basically just file serving from server to a Plex client, and to a number of PCs, but just a home environment.
