I like the P16 series, great mobile workhorses, the only thing I wish Lenovo would change/add would be a u.2 slot for "massive" (everything beyond 8 TByte that you could get in m.2) local nvme storage (with plp)

Lenovo ships the system with a rather high-powered USB-C extended power range (EPR) power supply.

Thanks to EUs crackdown on proprietary power supplies, I believe that's a good thing that also enables cross compatible docking stations

It's certainly technically possible. For a brief time, some had SATA Express drives, which was essentially the consumer version of U.2 with 2 lanes instead of 4.
