That's what I'm seeking and trying to confirm, which k type the slot is as I don't have the machine on hands to check.
As I wrote, it's A/E key.

Edited to add, patiently, that this info is in the first post - although I understand that there is quite a lot of stuff in the first post.

Updates on the ThinkSmart Core.

The RAM is soldered, the m.2 is 2280. Interesting, there's an unpopulated second m.2 slot. Photos to follow tomorrow.

there is no separate thread about p3 ultra so i will ask here. kinda evolution of 'tiny' platform to me.

https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sy...ation_P3_Ultra/ThinkStation_P3_Ultra_Spec.pdf i have this platform and it says

>Slot 2: PCIe® 3.0 x8 (x4 lanes), low profile, 25W
i connected pcie4.0 nvme drive (sk hynix pc801) using dumb pcie -> m2 adapter from jeyi and i get pcie4.0 speeds while it should be 3.0. any idea what is going on?

I obtained 3 x M720q from 2 sellers and was wondering if someone has any of the old UEFI firmware?

I have 2 that are running M1UKT4BA which allows undervolting via throttlestop.
The 3rd one has an older version, but I was hoping to bring it to the same level as above.

I went into the same rabbit hole, eventually i found out that it's easier and better to have the latest BIOS update and unlock the UEFI settings to enable undervolt again. Look at this post

I have a M90q Gen2 that I have (IIRC) the Supermicro 2x SFP card-in. I'm casually noodling on a dual-WAN setup which means I end up a port short (since I want to keep the on-board NIC for management use only) -- are there quad-port SFP cards that will fit in the chassis?

I bought two M720q i5-8400t and the fan on those are operating normally, i.e. they spin up to 1900-2000rpm if I stress the CPU with say OCCT.
This third unit is M720q i5-8500t and I have no idea what is wrong. The firmware is one version back from the earlier two.
The fan remains at around 1200rpm when I stress it the same way and it's hitting 85-90c with thermal throttling.
Once in a while the fan would spin up to 6000rpm for 5 seconds.

I swapped fans from the 8400t pair and it's the same symptom. All units are undervolted by 125-160mv and whether that is turned on or off, it does not affect this behavior.

Fresh paste on all 3 units.
I'm a bit loss now. It's a motherboard issue?

Hello. I have a P320 Tiny that already has a 4 port video card in it. Is there a way to remove that and put in a 4 port nic for a opnSense project.

Thanks

Not sure what your CPU is, but looking at the "worst" CPU on that list, intel-core-i5-12500 is listed as PCIe 4.0/5.0.

EDIT: So you have 2 slots according to the spec sheet":
Two PCIe® slots with one PCIe® 4.0 x16 and one PCIe® 3.0 x8.
Is it the case that the "4.0" slot goes to the CPU, while the "3.0" slot goes to the PCH? So therefore, a PCH thing? Not sure if you are on Linux but it looks like you can correlate the link speed to the lanes+PCIe version

Hi. That is not what I have. Mine is a P32 Tiny. Different form factor. If I had that one there would not be a problem. LOL

Yes, you can take it out but you probably have to replace the heatsink/fan with a standard one, yours will have a heatpipe assembly to cool the GPU. The part numbers are in the first post.

The commentator above me isn't replying to your comment, if you read the quoting.

Thank you. Do not think it is worth the effort. I also have a M715q. I have seen a few methods to add a second nic but the little card they come with is different than the slot on my board. I have what looks lie a mini pci slot and a nvme slot for an ssd. I could swap that for a sata and use that spot. But kinda stumped as to where to start.

Thanks again

The entire purpose of this is to install opnSense and it needs two nics. I do not thing a USB to Ethernet would work.
