Hi, I keep getting calls and emails from Konica (we have several business grade scanners/copiers from them)
trying to sway me to buy into their Print Cost Reduction program.

did anyone tried it?
is it worth it?

I have scheduled a meeting with them next week but want to get some opinions from peoples who use it or tried it.

we do print a lot and have a mish mush of printers here. several big bizhubs, couple of small ones as well.
lots of small laser printers and inkjets of various manufactures, like HP, and DELL and Xerox and Brother.

Depend so what your users printing uses are like, but yes they can save your company bucket loads of money via print management software etc.

Definitely worth looking into.

Also sometimes it's cheaper to upgrade all your copiers printers etc to newer models.... as changing over to newer model might get you in a cheaper copy cost plan than the current copiers are in now.

Thanks Stanza,

well here is a layout of what I am dealing with :)

in my company, everything is run into the ground.
I mean if I have a printer it will be used until either it breaks beyond reasonable cost of repair, and lets face it most of the printers today are cheaper to replace than fix, or it is no longer under maintenance and it breaks.
we still have PCs that are almost 20yo. grunted, some of them are special case machines, running specialized software and controlling special machinery etc. not easily replaced/upgraded.

what triggered the interest in Minolta offering is that accounting tallied up the ink cost for the last 6 month to be about 7000+. but I am not sure if Konica program would fix that.
as I said in OP, we have a add-hoc mix of printers here.
we have 2 new Konica BizHub centers that replaced 2 older one. as a matter of fact we still have the old machines running, they just not under warranty or maintenance, so if they break out they go.
and there are maybe 20 or more mixed type/manufacturing laser and inkjet printers throughout the building.
printing is rampant and wild. but it is not do to users per see, but rather do to business practices and needs.
we use normal desktop printers to print specialised things like Envelopes and Labels .
we use a lot of spreadsheets and other reports upto 20 to 40 pages long. multiple copies.
we have an IBM mainframe mini charring up tons of reports and info printouts every day. most of it go directly to the dump bin, but we can not change it as the system is so old it simply does not work in other way. (we are in the process of upgrade/update but it will take a while.)

so I am not sure if Konica can do anything to make it less. but we will see. I just wanted to see if it is legit or just a money grab.
