Juniper EX-2500 - can't bring up 1GBPS link?

Finally got the Juniper EX-2500, but i can't seem to bring up a 1GBPS link to the rest of the network. Also, no option to configure speed on this switch. Attempts to configure 1GBPS on the other side (Alcatel-Lucent OS6450) don't seem to bring link up.

Anyone got any idea?

SUCCESS!

Steps to solve:

• 1. Do NOT use FC transceivers for this, even though they do work on other switches for Ethernet.
• 2. Had a LINK UP only on the other side, not on Juniper.
• 3. Put auto (negotiation) on relevant interface in Juniper and other side
• 4. PROFIT!!!
