Japan
2023/11/21 terms update: will only ship the whole bulk to a single customer. Or at the very least, substantial amount of goods in one package. Can't afford packing and shipping just a single small component.
Giving away some stuff that's taking space.
The catch is i'm in Japan.
Shipping abroad is expensive, especially for heavy items like HDDs. I can also only ship to destinations accepted by Japan Post. Check your country ship/no-ship status here: Service availability by country - Japan Post
US and Canada status is here Acceptance/non-acceptance of international mail to the United States and other destinations (as of September 7, 2022) - Japan Post
Shipping via surface mail(as long as it's accepted to your country by Japan Post, check status above) is relatively cheap and same price worldwide, max 2kg per package, as follows:
wtshipping fee JPY
0-100g480
101-250g570
251-500g720
501-1kg1010
1-2kg1600

If your country is listed as accepting air parcels or if you're fine with surface ship or maybe if you want something fast(EMS), then i can accept shipping payment through wise.com, amazon US gift card of the same value, or other US-local options(I have a friend in the US, zelle or paypal f&f are okay).

You can calculate the approximate shipping value using japan post label printing service by signing up, entering sample address data and selecting your country, zip and approximate weight. 国際郵便マイページサービス

All items were working (except for those marked red or unless otherwise stated) the last time they were used, cannot confirm if they still work now or not. As-is.
I can only say everything was carefully stored, in antistatic bags and not thrown around.

Please note this is not for sale, as such it's done in my free time, which i may not have so i can stop responding for days. I'll try to ship ASAP after i got paid but until then it can take days for me to come back to you to negotiate shipping fees. Appreciate your understanding.

Unrelated question - It is rare to see someone from Japan in this hobby/space. My wife is pushing us to move back to her hometown/prefecture from the states, and I was wondering what the HL community is like in Japan as a whole - is there any particular sites/forums in Japanese that are popular for this hobby? Last time I poked around for used business goods/HL stuff, it was either very expensive or just nothing to be found (Perhaps I was looking in the wrong place)

I was just looking for a gauge for how many participate in the hobby/space, and where to people chat on this.

My Wife's hometown is getting 10G FTTH installed for ~¥8500, which is less than what I currently pay for 1/100 the speed, which makes things attractive; The power costs less so.

Not that I'm a part of any local forums, not sure. I've only recently discovered there are some server goods on yahoo auctions. You can find some real cheap stuff and if you have time and will to re-sell that on ebay that can probably even generate some income. There's some on rakuten, there's pcserver1 dot jp for used stuff but otherwise i also don't know where to get enterprise gear. Personally I don't know anyone who's into homelabbing here, except for maybe some STH members. I've been in IT professionally for many years but only recently started building up my homelab.
10G sounds amazing. But unless it's inaka maybe that's somewhat a norm these days. I only have a single ISP 1G FTTH that's around 5500-6000 JPY or so. Not sure where you're getting cheap power though. Maybe you're mining it. There are talks that electricity prices will go up 6-7 JPY per kwh in December so hope you have enough sunlight over there! On the other hand electricity prices in EU really spiked. Maybe US is affected as well.

I think her Pref gets most of their power from Hydro (Nagano area) so the power seems to be a bit more stable rate wise compared to Tokyo/Kansai areas.

Glad to hear there is at least the opportunity to find components for decent prices. It seems doing some sort of tiny home cluster using USFF boxes like the dells or HPs, or going the ARM route would be most cost effective.

Here are some estimates for shipping X550(assuming it's around 100~200g) to US, California
EMS(fastest) is ~3900 JPY
Surface packet is very cheap around 600 to 700 JPY. That's gonna be slow.
Unfortunately until covid there was "epacket light" option which was tracked and very cheap, in between these two but i can't select it now.

@Aluminat I've got PM from someone else first, unless he/she would take it you'll have a chance.
