Is it possible to replace Dell motherboard (R210) with board from other brands?

I'm looking at an used R210 ads and really like its small chassis. However this R210 is fitted with E3 CPU installed and I'm thinking to upgrade it with Supermicro board (of any size) w/ Xeon D processor. I also want to ditch the DVD drive to create the space for additional SSD.

I tried googling but it seems there is no information available. There is also no mention about size of Dell mobo, it must be proprietary form factor. I can only find that someone had replaced R210 board with R210 II board. From the pictures of R210 I guess a standard ATX mobo won't fit, but not sure about mATX or ITX

I'm curious if there was anyone successfully installing other mobo into any old Dell chassis?

I would say no. this is DELL 1U. they usually use custom fitted hardware.
I know I used standard ATX MB in my SuperMicro chassis. but mine is a 4U 846 box with plenty of room.
also it is modded to use standard ATX PSU so all special innards are removed.
